The decision in brief
Fonio is a credible option for configurable reception and administrative actions connected to calendars or business tools. Inquira is worth evaluating when the requirement spans patient prerequisites, scheduling, EHR updates and follow-up. The deciding question is how much of that complete process is supported and maintained in your proposal.
When each supplier belongs on your shortlist
Consider Inquira when…
You need Medicore and Nedap Ons and want to connect reception to preparation, patient actions and staff exceptions. Validate the complete journey and its implementation scope, rather than assuming every workflow is ready by default.
Consider Fonio when…
Your first priority is reception and your calendar or business systems match Fonio’s available integrations. You value configurable workflows and published plans, and can establish responsibility for any healthcare-specific connection work.

Source 9Ask both suppliers to demonstrate: Follow an unanswered request beyond the call: what triggers the next action and who tracks completion?- 03EHR and scheduling integration
Inquira Health
Named EHR integrations: Medicore and Nedap Ons. Agree the required read/write operations and permissions. Other EHR connections are scoped per project. The partner profile linked below provides additional integration context.

Inquira Health
Journey steps can stay with staff, use assistance or run automatically. Review the configured handover, patient timeline and scheduling constraints in a demonstration.

Plans differ in simultaneous calls and telephony options. Those provisions do not establish how your patient exceptions are managed.
Source 10Ask both suppliers to demonstrate: Test a busy line, uncertain identity and a failed write-back; inspect the handover and retry handling.- 05Security and deployment
Inquira Health
Published certificates: ISO 27001:2023 and NEN 7510:2024. Inquira states EU data residency. Review certificate scope, the DPA, subprocessors, retention and access controls for your deployment.
Source 6Fonio
Fonio states Germany/EU storage, and its Scale plan advertises Zero Data Retention. Confirm what that option covers; neither statement establishes the complete processing chain or your contracted retention settings.
Source 8Source 10Ask both suppliers to demonstrate: Request the DPA, subprocessors, inference locations and the scope of any retention option in your plan.- 06Commercial scope
Inquira Health
Published Pro pricing: €350/month plus €0.15/minute; EHR connection from €150/month, excluding VAT. Ask for a quote covering the intended journey and implementation.
Source 7Fonio
Fonio’s plans include minutes and different simultaneous-call limits. Additional usage is sold in minute packages, and outbound calling has additional carrier charges. Include custom connection work and maintenance in the quotation.
Source 10Ask both suppliers to demonstrate: Price the relevant plan, peak traffic, extra usage and any EHR implementation or maintenance together.
Inquira’s published Pro plan supports up to 10,000 minutes per month; those minutes are billed separately. Broader scope and capacity require an agreed proposal.
Use this in your demo
Test where a calendar booking becomes a patient workflow
A patient calls to book, but their referral is incomplete. Later they upload the missing item and the first offered slot is no longer available.
- 1
Handle the first contact
Identify the patient, find the incomplete prerequisite and explain the next action. Do not treat a calendar entry as a completed referral.
- 2
Receive the missing item
Show how receipt changes the workflow and updates the correct record. Identify any manual action or third-party automation needed.
- 3
Book against live rules
Check the available slot again before confirmation. Handle a simultaneous booking and offer a valid alternative.
- 4
Recover from a failed connection
Interrupt the record update. Show what the patient hears, how staff are notified and how duplicates are prevented.
Accept the workflow only when the system shows the resulting record, the exception owner and the audit trail. A spoken promise is not completion.
Questions buyers ask
Can Fonio be used by healthcare practices?
Fonio has healthcare-specific material describing administrative tasks such as scheduling and handling referral enquiries. Whether it covers your complete process depends on integrations, configuration and the agreed deployment.
Are calendar integrations enough for care coordination?
They may be enough for simple booking. A wider patient journey may also need referral status, documents, notes and exception ownership. List those operations separately and ask for a working demonstration.
Is the cheapest published plan the cheapest deployment?
You cannot establish that from the starting price alone. Compare the same traffic, connections, implementation, support and work remaining with staff. Ask both suppliers for a complete quote.
